Meet the AP / IB Coordinator

Ms. Belinda Fiochi

Mrs. Belinda Fiochi joined AOSR in September 1982 and has since been an active member of the mathematics department who cares deeply and passionately about the school.

In her long tenure at AOSR, Mrs. Fiochi has taught mathematics at all levels in the secondary school, developed computer science curricula, headed committees to revise and review the mathematics programs offered, and served many years as chair of the mathematics department. For the past twenty years she has been the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) and the Advanced Placement (AP) programs coordinator.

Mrs. Fiochi feels strongly the need to be of service to the community and strives to continuously improve her ability to lead the AP and IB programs at AOSR. She considers herself a learner and attends frequent professional development opportunities, always staying informed to fulfill her role of pedagogical leader of the IB and AP faculty.

She feels it is a privilege to guide students through the many facets of these challenging academic programs and is proud to work in a school that offers the choice of the best-fit program for its students. She is always available to help families with updated and accurate information on both the AP and IB program regulations and their worldwide recognition policies.

Prior to AOSR, Mrs. Fiochi taught mathematics in Texas, and Honduras.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Texas - Pan American, and many certificates in Computer Science and Teaching Advanced Mathematics from several institutions including the American University of Paris and the National University of Honduras.
