Thank you for your interest in seeking employment at the American Overseas School of Rome. The American Overseas School prefers to hire U.S. citizens with experience teaching in accredited schools in the United States or around the world. Although most candidates are hired through recruiting agencies, AOSR may also hire professional teachers and administrators who send their applications directly to the school by email or by mail.
Who can Apply
Teachers wishing to apply for any of the available positions must have the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Three or more years of teaching experience in the specific teaching field
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Native English speakers

If you are a qualified teacher and would like to submit your application for consideration, please submit the following:
- Cover letter
- Curriculum vitae
- Two letters of recommendation
- Copy of teaching certificate
- Copies of undergraduate/graduate diplomas
- Copies of undergraduate/graduate transcripts

We will not ask potential teachers for information related to bank accounts or other private information. If you have been asked to send money to cover such costs, you are probably the target of an elaborate scam. Several good international schools have recently had their web sites cloned, and candidates have been asked to send large amounts of money. All international candidates are urged to be diligent in investigating potential schools during the recruiting process and prior to signing a contract.
