Student Government

Student council (STUCO) is a dynamic, energetic organization that keeps AOSR’s secondary school buzzing with life.

Through STUCO, students create an effective and charismatic voice with which to express themselves, find an avenue for promoting student activities, and come together to plan fundraisers for meaningful causes locally and around the world.

High School Student Council

Our high school students take their responsibilities as Student Council members very seriously and are always finding new ways to engage and entertain fellow students as well as to forge connections with the community around us. Student Council officers are elected by the student body each fall and meet frequently in order to plan fundraisers, dances, and major campus events, like the annual pep rally at Thanksgiving, the highly anticipated Mayfair Celebration, the Talent Show, and more.

Student Council members are also responsible for the “Falcon News”, a series of weekly webisodes in which STUCO members share important information, reminders, and updates about campus events, the academic schedule, clubs and activities, upcoming sports games, and more. “Falcon News” is a fun, forward thinking, and creative way for students to stay in tune with one another and what is happening on our always bustling campus.

Student Council members are role models on campus and forge meaningful relationships with the student body, the faculty, and the staff as elected leaders within the community who care deeply about making the student experience at AOSR the best that it can be.

Middle School Student Council

In the Middle School, the Student Council structure allows for student involvement in decision making, ownership in the planning and execution of events, and a pathway for a dialogue about student concerns. In class groups, representatives are elected to serve and they assist to channel information both to and from their advisory peers. STUCO members from all grades within the Middle School are expected to serve as role models and leaders to display and encourage positive peer relations across the AOSR campus.

The STUCO works together throughout the year to create social events for students to enjoy, including an autumn Halloween Dance, Winter Holiday Dance, Valentines Dance, Spring BBQ and Talent Show. Middle School STUCO also plan regular fundraising events to help with local and global crises. All STUCO events are chaperoned by the fabulous Middle School faculty who get to share the fun with students who attend. Because fun is contagious, as is the involvement in school and community events, STUCO members are proud to be involved and active within the Middle School.
