Grace, Grade 6

"I love elementary school because we study many different subjects and do projects in groups. I love the opportunity to work together with classmates and socialize at the same time. There are so many different fun activities in class, like book clubs and even using technology to record videos of our portfolio pieces!"

"This is my first year at AOSR. I made friends super quickly and now have an awesome, inclusive friend group. I have even made friends with peers that I don’t have any classes with. The teachers are really nice and supportive and it’s been easy to adjust to this new environment. I am joining soccer soon, and I participate in STUCO, GIN, and the Go Green Club. I’ve found that it’s manageable to be in multiple clubs and organizations, balance my personal hobbies, and still succeed with all my schoolwork."

Future AP Student

"This is my 4th year at AOSR. I would like to pursue a medical career so I’ve focused a lot on science classes, and right now biology is my favorite class. I also love the English classes, because we get the opportunity to develop different types of writing. There is a huge variety of elective classes compared to my last school. Here we have opportunities like computer applications, computer animation graphics and studio art. Next year I will be taking AP statistics and AP language and composition and AP physics."

"It's my first year at AOSR. Being a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I'm especially appreciative of the super open and welcoming community. I'm in the theater department and I'm currently writing my own monologue for the spring theatre production. I love that AOSR offers me opportunities academically and socially."

Scholar and Future Biologist

"This is my third year at AOSR. When I came to this school I was anxious and nervous because I didn't know anyone here. But I quickly made friends in my first class and got to know them. AOSR is the complete opposite of my last school! The people here are kind, nice, and sociable. My favorite subject is biology because I love learning about living and natural things and the environment and organisms."

Our campus is constantly buzzing with life. There are school wide spirit weeks, a welcome picnic for new families, our annual Mayfair event, the Winter Holiday Market, and Halloween and Carnevale celebrations.

On Fridays, the community cheers on the Varsity athletic teams after school while the PTO manages our American-inspired Booster Bar.

AOSR students grow as multi-faceted individuals with a sense of self and a sense of purpose that informs their school work but also informs their lives in the AOSR community and the greater community of Rome and beyond.

This is just one of the reasons that makes us the best international school in Rome.
