Welcome to the American Overseas School of Rome, a private, non-profit school in Rome, Italy that offers the best American-International Education for over 75 years!

Founded in 1947, we offer an American-style campus with a top class international curriculum and  accreditations. We currently have +575 students enrolled for the 2022-2023 academic year, with approximately 200 students in the Elementary school, 170 students in the Middle School and 210 students in the High school.

Our pillars for excellence are Personalized Learning, Active Learning & Future Ready Learning.

AOSR's academic excellence and community are second to none here in Rome but do not take our word for it

Our student body is made up of 33% American students, 33% Italian students and 33% International Students from over 50 countries! AOSR is not-for-profit school and governed by a Board of Trustees comprised principally of parents of enrolled students.

Although the school accepts applications all year, early application in January/February for September entry is suggested due to space constraints. Individual applications received during the summer and school year will be considered on a case by case basis.

Come see for yourself what makes AOSR so special: the joy of learning and the sense of community. If you are unable to attend in person, we will gladly arrange a phone conversation, a video conference, or an email response to any of your queries. We are excited to share with you our educational philosophy, academic accomplishments, and gorgeous campus.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family to AOSR.

Our team is experienced and passionate about welcoming new families from around the world, and we look forward to introducing you to all that AOSR has to offer."

Your team was extremely supportive and, above all, flexible with our application needs. We were impressed with the warmth and understanding of your team from the onset. Both were instrumental in our decision to apply to AOSR, despite the school being a fair distance from our home. The commute pales in comparison to what the school has to offer our daughter. Thank you.

Sabine has been outstanding in providing information to my family, and also very caring and always available. Thank you Sabine, you made our transition feel smooth.

The Admissions Office, in particular Ms. Neumann, was extremely helpful, friendly and professional.  We were assisted all the way through, from the very beginning all the way through the first day of school.

I thought Sabine was fantastic - reassuring, calm and extremely supportive throughout. I found everything so perfect and simple.
