Our 2025 TEDxAOSR Youth Event
In 2025, we marked five years of hosting a TEDx event at our school. Our students were not only the speakers. They also played a central role in organizing the event, preparing speakers, managing promotion, and handling the many details behind the scenes.
For our 5th consecutive event, we welcomed 100 guests - record attendance, considering that we had only 25 guests at our first ever event. We received 23 student applications to speak (yet another record), and selected 12 speakers for the event.
A special thank you to our student co-organizers, Senior JingRu, Junior Pierfilippo, and Sophomore Marco. Our speakers came from across the American Overseas School of Rome, including one student from the AOSR Elementary School. This reflects our belief in giving every student a voice and a platform.
The 2025 theme, In Your Hands, focused on the idea that the future of AI, renewable energy, sustainability, women’s rights, and alternative power sources rests with the next generation. The ideas shared by our students showed both depth and clarity of thought.
To mark this five-year milestone, we hosted TEDxAOSR Youth at a local theater. This allowed a wider audience beyond our school community to experience what happens when students take ownership, lead with purpose, and share ideas they believe will shape the future.

A Tradition of Excellence - TEDxAOSR Youth 2024
Since our inaugural TEDx event in 2021, the AOSR stage has become a dynamic platform for sharing groundbreaking ideas and diverse perspectives. Each year, this initiative grows in scope and influence, attracting a larger audience, sparking deeper conversations, and cementing our reputation as a hub for thought leadership.
In 2024, we achieved an exciting milestone. With 14 dynamic speakers and an audience of over 80 engaged participants, the event exceeded all expectations. This remarkable growth reflects the tireless efforts of our organizers, the talent of our speakers, and the enthusiasm of our broader community.
